I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Lorena Maldonado. I am a licensed social worker based out of New York City. I help will help you connect more deeply to yourself and the people around you through individual therapy sessions. Together we will explore the past and develop a plan to improve your current relationships and emotion management. I know what it’s like to live with high anxiety and the persistent need to make everyone around you happy. I know the importance of having an empathetic and trusted therapist that moves at your pace.
I strive to make therapy a safe place where all parts of you and your story can feel witnessed and held. Trauma work is often challenging and nuanced and needs an individualized approach. For this reason, I will work with you to help you connect to your inner power and healing in a way that is authentic to you. You can expect a trauma focused and individualized approach to our sessions. I pull from an array of theories, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and somatic based therapies. There is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy and I look forward to working as your partner on this healing journey.
If you have questions or want to connect you can email me here or contact me on Psychology Today.
