Your inner voice is telling you to slow down.
To say no and set that boundary. Yet, every time the feeling surfaces, you silence it. Self doubt creeps in and you end up saying “no” to yourself.
“It’s gotten me this far so it can’t be that bad, right?”
And you’re right. You’re exceptional at your job, maintaining a composed exterior that has led to countless achievements. However, beneath the surface there is a storm of anxiety and self doubt. You find yourself saying “yes” to everything and everyone out of fear of being a burden or alienated from others.
You have friends but have this feeling that nobody truly knows you or wants you around. You avoid burdening others with the weight of your past, opting to carry it on your own.
The heaviness and pain of growing up in a high conflict home and the loneliness of adapting to the abuse. The nightmares and flashbacks that seem to come at random and the inexplicable feelings of disconnection from your body.
You wish your relationship with your family was different but have found it challenging to strike a balance with them. You think about how much they’ve given you and look to your successes as metrics.
“It couldn’t have been that bad? I should just forget about it.”
So you push these thoughts aside. Bury yourself in social media, late night outings with “friends”, and a packed schedule that leaves little time for introspection.
But those feelings of anxiety, shame, and loneliness never really leave and you’re tired of being on autopilot.
“if i am the longest relationship of my life isn’t it time to nurture intimacy and love with the person i lie in bed with each night -acceptance”

There is strength and resilience in what you’ve overcome but you’re ready to move out of survival mode.
You desire vulnerable and open connections to yourself and the people around you. You want to live a life that satisfies your own expectations and needs, rather than trying to make others happy. There is a longing for deeper presence within you life.
